Clearly, it requires this degree of ‘spoon-feeding’—of those who claim to use it—to illustrate those features that set the Tridentine Rite apart from later forms.
It is interesting, that both in the Calendars of 1576 and 1604 Missals Vigil of Assumption is put to higher place than a day in Octave. Octave and St Eusebius are there commemorations. Any ideas
I am more introduced to the Rubrics of pre-Pius X Breviaries. From this reason this well answered question. And Thank You for this really great work what You have done!
Lovely stuff: come back Stanley Morison and print for us again.
ReplyDeleteIT would be interesting to note the differences in Rubrics from the later ones...?
ReplyDeleteWell done Rubricarius!

Even then, I wonder whether they understand.
May I mention my blog with photos of all the Rubrics and Kalendars of the 1604 Missale Romanum? Thanks. Bryan

ReplyDeleteTauno Teder,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments.
Rubricae Generales, III states that when a Vigil falls within an Octave Mass is sung of the Vigil. The Office is of the Octave.
Thank You Rubricarius!
