I'm asking because I was wondering what is the good approach regarding the anticipated Vigil. Should the office be of St Lawrence with the ninth lesson being of the Vigil instead of St. Hyppolitus ? Thanks
@Joël, Prior to the reform in the Office the 9th lesson would be of the Vigil but the Mass would be of the Vigil with commemoration of the Octave etc. In Collegiate churches two Masses, one of the Octave the other of the Vigil.
Before the reforms of St Pius X, the Vigil of the Assumption was only commemorated within the Octave of St Lawrence ?
