What is the reason for the Prayer "Fidelium" at Mass on Monday, February 20? I thought this prayer was used outside of Advent and Lent on the first free feria of the month (which was February 13 this month) and also on ferial Mondays of Advent and Lent. Is it actually used also on all ferial Mondays of Septuagesima as well as Lent?
I suppose I may have been mixing up the days when "Fidelium" is said with the days when Pius V recommended adding the Office of the Dead (I guess these scenarios overlap but do no entirely coincide).

ReplyDelete@Peter,
ReplyDeleteOutside of November, Advent, Lent & Paschaltide Fidelium is said on the first 'free' day of each month.
Outside Lent and Paschaltide it is also said on 'free' Mondays.
Dear Rubricarius,
ReplyDeleteThank you for that explanation. I also came across this older post of yours, which was helpful:
