So it is the 'privileged' nature of the First Friday Votive Mass which negates the necessity of 'Fidelium'? When a non-privileged votive is said under similar circumstances, 'Fidelium' presumably would still be said?
Dear Rubricarius, I have a hard time wrapping my head around the number of collects. When the assigned orations from the sanctoral are said, but there's a commemoration of a saint, the "third" oration is omitted. But why is this is not the case when 'Fidelium' is said? And why is this oration said after the "second" oration, and not the last?
On 1 December (First Friday), would 'Fidelium' still be said at a Votive Mass of the Sacred Heart?
ReplyDelete@Peter,
ReplyDeleteNo. The privileged Votive Mass of the SH is as in the Ordo, i.e with a single oration.
Thank you, Rubricarius.

Forgive me, I just noticed your answer to the same question I asked a few months ago, I completely forgot that I asked it.
